Position Summary

The Person Who Keeps the Project Moving

The Civil Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable regulations, quality standards, and contract requirements.

The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact among clients, contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders. This is the one person who knows where every piece of the job stands at any given moment.

Based out of our Pensacola-area office on Avalon Blvd in Milton, this Project Manager runs work throughout Escambia County, including Pensacola, Cantonment, and Perdido Key, and east across the bay into Santa Rosa County, including Milton, Pace, Gulf Breeze, and Navarre.

Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Project Planning & Management

  • Develop project schedules.
  • Coordinate all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Manage project documentation, contracts, permits, and change orders.

Budget & Cost Control

  • Review bids, estimates, contracts, and change orders.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining project quality.
  • Manage contract negotiations and vendor relationships.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead project teams, including site supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Facilitate project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Monitor performance to ensure project objectives are achieved.

Site Oversight & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction activities.
  • Address construction issues, delays, and risks proactively.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project progress reports and updates.
  • Manage client expectations and address concerns promptly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, and contractors.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, contracts, schedules, and reports.
  • Ensure proper project closeout documentation and handover.

Where You’ll Work

Pensacola, Escambia County & Santa Rosa County

Our Pensacola office covers the western Panhandle. Most days you’ll be within a short drive of the office, and you’ll know Highway 90 between Pensacola and Milton better than anyone.

Pensacola

Home office. Municipal water, sewer, and stormwater work throughout the city and Escambia County.

Milton & Pace

Utility infrastructure supporting the fast-growing Santa Rosa County corridor along Highway 90.

Gulf Breeze & Navarre

Water, sewer, and site work along the south end of Santa Rosa County and the Gulf Islands.

The Western Panhandle

Projects in Cantonment, Perdido Key, and neighboring Okaloosa County as the work calls for it.

Commutable from Milton, Pace, Gulf Breeze, Navarre, Cantonment, Perdido Key, and across the Alabama line from Lillian and Foley.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Proven experience managing industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and project management principles.
  • Proficient use of Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of navigating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera P6 (scheduling), Trimble, or similar tools is a plus.

Work Environment

What to Expect on the Job

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and field-based work out of our Pensacola office.
  • Frequent travel to construction sites across Escambia County, Santa Rosa County, and the western Florida Panhandle.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to visit active construction sites and navigate varying terrain.
  • Ability to stand, walk uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders, and inspect work areas for extended periods in various weather conditions.
